- THIS IS WHAT I LOVE! Today I went vintage shopping in Brooklyn, for my webshop ELEGANTLY WAISTED, and I found quite a few awesome pieces:

Full cream long pleated skirt (in the background), a yellow silk and cotton dress-with white croquet, a bright printed flower pants-skirt, a short metallic skirt, a nude and silver lace skirt, a full tutu inspired silk and lace skirt and a really fun beaded bag. Also picked up a few jewelry bits and a pair of cool sunnies. This will be available online very soon!

Pop by and try on some gorgeous long goddess dresses, a black sequined short silk jacket, a short 60s inspired cute dress number and 50s black and lilac metallic belted over-the-knee feminine dress. This is one of the reasons I love vintage shopping. Getting hold of something like this! The black soft velvet, and the crisp white lace is amazing, luckily for me Caroline found this-but gave it to me. Yeah! Soon you can get a hold of it on the webshop…

I love going vintage shopping when out travelling, and when I came to Florence, there was no exception. I visited a few good shops-and their selections was not too bad. But the prices was of course A LOT compared to my usual thrifting. My overall feeling of the shops I stopped by, was that the quality of the clothes were great but  it was very ladylike and feminine and had a retro and very vintage feel. So I had to really look close and long to find those cool, unique pieces. But I found a few, that I will show you later.

Such a cool piece to hang your clothes on, I want one…

Here is some of the vintage shops that I went to:

NADINE: Lungarno Acciaiuoli, 22/r (Just near the river right before Ponte Vecchio) Vintage and some new bits. I found a belt and a necklace, but then nothing really felt right, and the rest had the same vibe that I feel Florence vintage was all about. Nothing chic, sexy and cool anytime soon…

EPOCA: Here I found a snakeskin small shoulderbag that is soooo cute, a animal printed full skirt, weeee,  and a cool 80s mustard short “suede” top. That was about all the good bits she had…unless you wanted 50s ladylike dresses, 30s granma (who was not hot) bags and red 60s (student) mary janes.

Our new studio/showroom for my vintage clothes! Redecorated with newly pained walls in white and light grey painted floors.Its such an amazing space in the heart of Vika/Oslo. Yeah!

A sneak peak of new the vintage stuff from LONDON, BERLIN and CAPETOWN, where Maria@vanillascented has picked her favorites and we have styled it together, it will be online very soon.

I found this cute vintage black jumpsuit shorts when I was in LA…it has an open back and beautiful stitch detailing as a belt. It´s perfect for summerchic, with high wedges and long tanned legs.

I love when I am just about to give up, going trough so many ugly bits of second hand and vintage stuff, and suddenly you come across an item that just makes it all worth it. Like this white sequined sheer bluse shirt, that I found scouting in Lillesand yesterday. Its perfect for summer, casually slung over a tanktop and those terracotta colored silk trousers. It will be available online very soon!

Having relocated to the South of Norway for å few days, its hard not to go shopping..but when there are nothing much when it comes to clothes i Arendal (though surprisingly they have Acne)..you have to go for the second best..and thats bits and bobs for your house. I came across this black painted chinese inspired vase…and this cute little pink bowl from an antique shop on the harbor. They were displayed together-and for some reason I could not separate them..and there were something about them, that just made it impossible to leave them behind. Thinking of starting to offer special handpicked antique bits on Elegantly Waisted. What do you think?

In this months HENNE (out now), there is a feature about my best vintage buys and secrets. Its shot in my flat in Vika (Oslo), and Im wearing a vintage stripy colored top for the occation (you know I love my blacks), and plain skirt by Monki. On the rail next to me, you can se my beautiful vintage foxfur cape that I got from Paris, a velvet cropped jacket found in Bergen, a classic white 70s Jaeger shirt from a fleamarket in Oslo, and that rust red amazing coat from NY-that sold out in a second…
