Elegantly Waisted

I love going vintage shopping when out travelling, and when I came to Florence, there was no exception. I visited a few good shops-and their selections was not too bad. But the prices was of course A LOT compared to my usual thrifting. My overall feeling of the shops I stopped by, was that the quality of the clothes were great but  it was very ladylike and feminine and had a retro and very vintage feel. So I had to really look close and long to find those cool, unique pieces. But I found a few, that I will show you later.

Here is some of the vintage shops that I went to:

NADINE: Lungarno Acciaiuoli, 22/r (Just near the river right before Ponte Vecchio) Vintage and some new bits. I found a belt and a necklace, but then nothing really felt right, and the rest had the same vibe that I feel Florence vintage was all about. Nothing chic, sexy and cool anytime soon…

EPOCA: Here I found a snakeskin small shoulderbag that is soooo cute, a animal printed full skirt, weeee,  and a cool 80s mustard short “suede” top. That was about all the good bits she had…unless you wanted 50s ladylike dresses, 30s granma (who was not hot) bags and red 60s (student) mary janes.

Ahhhh… One of the best places to shop in FLORENCE - Luisa via Roma has it all. From YSL, Jil Sander and Stella McCartney to Rick Owens, Proenza and Lanvin. Great selection-straight off the runway. LOVES! Nothing on sale in the shop when I was there-but online on their website-you can go crazy!

When in Barcelona, we stayed at CHIC & BASIC, central in downtown, not too far from the beach, good eating and vintage shops.

Todays inspiration for our shoot, was Kate Moss & Calvin Klein `93. LOVES.

From the people behind of one of my favorite Danish fashion magazines Cover, there is now a new International horse and horse-loving-lifestyle magazine THE HORSE RIDERS JOURNAL, available in 20 countries world wide from the 1.st of June. I grew up with horses and was a typical horse-girl myself, and along my way of fashion so far-I have met a lot of previous horse-girls. There is something about those type of girls, that for somehow ends up in fashion! (Its like either you become a vet or a stylist…) Now that we are grown up, its fab to see that the HORSE still inspires.  Stella McCartney, Luella Bartley, Celine, Gucci, and Hermes-would be nothing without their equestrian influences and big love for the most beautiful, and gracies animals of them all, the HORSE.

I found this cute vintage black jumpsuit shorts when I was in LA…it has an open back and beautiful stitch detailing as a belt. It´s perfect for summerchic, with high wedges and long tanned legs.

When I was in Stockholm this week, I popped by the cool shop JUS, where they have the likes of Margiela, Ann Demeuelemeester, Rick Owens, Yvonne Kòne and so on. And of course this was were I could get a hold of my new wallet/clutch by Comme des Garçons. Black and simple with reptile patterns. Its a wallet that keeps all your mess in one place, and the cool little clutch that can fit all your essentials when going out. I am in LOVE.
